2018 Multiprofessional Obstetrics Simulation Training (MOST)

Occurs monthly on the 4th Thursday starting on 1/25/2018 at 5:30 PM, 201 Park Place, Altamonte , FL

Target Audience

This course combines didactic information with simulation training for every nurse, certified midwife, and physician who delivers babies and cares for pregnant women at each of the Florida Hospital obstetric campuses.  The course focuses on 3 aspects of simulation training: teamwork, postpartum hemorrhage, and shoulder dystocia.


The goals are to educate obstetrics team members about:
  1. Describe components of active management of 3rd stage of labor.
  2. Analyze the effects of cumulative blood loss on maternal symptoms.
  3. Discuss the purpose of a debriefing session.
  4. Recognize and implement strategies for effective communication.
  5. Compare maneuvers based on brachial plexus stretch.
  6. Management of shoulder dystocia.
  7. Management of postpartum hemorrhage.
  8. Improving communication between team members from different disciplines.
  9. Identifying unit-spefici deficiences to improve patient and team safety.

Pre-Test, Post-Test and Evaluation

The Pre-Test must be completed before attendance, if it isn't completed you will be asked to reschedule.  Do not wait - there is no time before the meeting to complete this.

After the course:

  • Post-Test -- required for ABOG Maintenance of Certification Part IV
  • Evaluation -- required for CME credit, certificate and to have credits uploaded to CE Broker
