Overview
The purpose of Education in Palliative and End of Life Care (EPEC) is to teach physicians how to provide primary palliative care for patients with serious illness. This education will consist of 4 different topics over 4 days during lunch (lunch provided).

Objectives

At the end of the lecture the audience should be able to:
  1. Explain the core skills of palliative care with respect to symtom management, whole person care, and breaking bad news.
  2. Discuss ethical and medical/legal issues for patients at end of life.
  3. Compare the differences between primary palliative care and palliative care provided by a palliative care specialist.
