Overview
Best practice care for sepsis in our hospitals is not occurring at the 75 percentile of the Nation, a goal for all AHS hospitals.  This presentation provides education to providers to empower them to achieve this level of best practice performance.

Objectives

At the end of this course, participants should be able to:
  1. Discuss the magnitude of the sepsis problem nationwide, and the implication for patients under our care.
  2. Explain the evidence that supports the SSC Guidelines for sepsis care, and be able to articulate those guidelines.
  3. Recognize the literature that supports the mortality benefit associated with early bundled care in sepsis, including the fluid bolus of 30ml/kg, especially in HF/CKD patients.
