House Bill No. 21, Chapter 2018-13 Laws of Florida - Section 456.0301 Requirement for instruction on controlled substance prescribing:
 

UPDATE controlled substance prescribing course required for DEA-authorized prescribers in Florida:

  • Florida Hospital is not authorized to offer courses on this subject at this time.
  • Per House Bill No. 21, the only authorized associations who can offer courses are:
    • Florida Medical Association
    • Florida Osteopathic Medical Association
    • Florida College of Emergency Physicians
  • This legislation goes into effect on July 1, 2018

  •  First deadline is January 31, 2019
